Solidarity is one of the most honorable values any country can hold, a way to come together with the purpose of achieving the wellbeing our people and workers need.
 
With these words, Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, secretary general of the Federation of Cuban Workers and a member of the Communist Party of Cuba's Political Bureau, opened the International Conference on Solidarity with Cuba, Latin America and the Caribbean, which took place yesterday, May 2, in Havana's Convention Center, with participants from 34 countries.
 

Cuban President Heads Ceremony for Workers

President of Cuba, Raul Castro, headed the ceremony in which 67 workers and five working groups were awarded for their contribution to the national socio-economic development as part of the celebrations for May 1st.
 
At the presidents proposal, last night, the first Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Lazaro Exposito Canto was given the honorary title of Hero of Labor of the Republic of Cuba, was officially informed here today.

British Foreign Secretary Arrives in Cuba for Official Visit

Philip Anthony Hammond, Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, arrives in Cuba Thursday for an official visit.
 
During his stay, Philip Hammond will fulfill a packed agenda that includes talks with Cuban officials, including his counterpart, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez.
 

Rescuers Working in Ecuador Return to Cuba

The Cuban rescue brigade that had been assisting those affected by the April 16th earthquake in Ecuador, returned last night to Havana according to the Granma newspaper website.
On the teams arrival at "Jose Marti" International Airport, Colonel Lazaro Herrera, head of the detachment that had worked in areas affected by the 7.8 degree quake, expressed his pride in his group and said that they were returning home with the certainty that they completed their duty.
 

Salvador Valdés Mesa receives Kenyan Foreign Minister

On April 25, Salvador Valdés Mesa, a Council of State vice president received the honorable Dr. Amina C. Mohamed, minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Kenya, on an official visit to Cuba.
 
During the cordial encounter the two dignitaries discussed opportunities to expand bilateral relations, specifically in the spheres of economy, trade and cooperation, and addressed topics on the international agenda.
 

Celebrations have begun!

More than 130,000 members of the Cuban Workers Federation (CTC) in Artemisa are participating in activities, April 25-30, leading up to International Workers Day, stated Eduardo Antonio Chiong, secretary general of the CTC in the province.
 
After reading the provincial convocation, more than 3,500 trade union locals committed to participate, beginning with the decoration of workplaces and initiatives of all kinds.
 

Foreign May Day Guests Pay Tribute to Cuban Patriot

The foreign guests who will participate in this year''s May Day parade at the Jose Marti Revolution Square in Havana, will today visit the Cuban province of Artemisa to pay tribute to the patriot Julio Antonio Mella.
 
The ceremony will begin with the laying of a wreath at the plaque that pays tribute to the prominent Cuban communist fighter at the International Camp that bears his name. The event is being attended by more than 200 activists from 34 countries.
 

Cuba-Vietnam Friendship Indestructible, States Cuban Expert

The friendship between Cuba and Vietnam is unique and continues today, despite the distance, US blockade and differences of culture, Ernesto Hernandez Miyares of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), stated today.
 
In an exclusive interview with Prensa Latina, Hernandez specified that the solidarity links between the two countries have existed since the liberation war of Vietnam and are indestructible.
