Havana International Tourism Fair -- FIT CUBA -- Closes with Growing Interest in Cuba Deals

Participation by more than 5,000 delegates from 59 countries, including more than 15 tourism ministers, at Cuba’s International Tourism Fair this year has consolidated Cuba as a major attraction in the field.
 
Closing the Fair on Friday night, Cuban Tourism Minister Manuel Marrero said the gathering had exceeded expectations in both the number of participants and the interest shown in signing deals with Cuba.
 

Lebanese Economy Minister Announces Visit to Cuba

Lebanese Economy and Trade Minister, Alain Hakim, today accepted an invitation to visit Cuba in June leading a delegation of businessmen, who are willing to initiate investment projects in different areas.
 
Hakim received the general director of investment at the Cuban Ministry for Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (MINCEX), Deborah Rivas, in Beirut. She gave him a letter of invitation sent by the Minister of MINCEX, Rodrigo Malmierca.
 

New Intergovernmental Collaboration Meeting Cuba - Algeria

Between the 8th and 10th of May, there will be in Algiers the 20th meeting of the intergovernmental commission for the collaboration between Cuba and Algeria, announced the authorities of the Caribbean island.
 
Across a press release, the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment (Mincex) informed that in the above mentioned meeting the Cuban delegation will be headed by the Minister and cochairman of the intergovernmental commission, Rodrigo Malmierca.
 

36th International Tourism Fair Concludes in Cuba

FITCuba 2016, the 36th International Tourism Fair, which concludes today in Havana, has been one of the most successful due to the growing interest in visiting the island. The the fair has captured the interest of tour operators, travel agents, hotel managers and carriers from several dozen countries, who see Cuba as a vacation destination of choice.
 
This year the fair was dedicated to Havana as a destination, Canada as the guest country and culture as a product.
 

FITCuba 2016, the biggest and best yet

The International Tourism Fair, FITCuba 2016 is making national and international headlines. The event which has been running for over 36 years, has been boosted by the “added value” of being the biggest edition to date.
 
This according to Cuba’s Minister of Tourism, Manuel Marrero Cruz, speaking at the inaugural session held at Havana’s Hotel Tryp Habana Libre. Over 2,000 delegates from over 50 countries, in addition to 173 journalists, are participating in this year’s event.
 

Vietnam War waged by all the people, says Cuban Journalist

Cuban journalist Martha Rojas asserted today that the struggle waged by Vietnam from 1945 to 1975 against foreign invaders, was a war of all the people and only could have one ending, the victory of the Asian nation.
 
On occasion of the anniversary of Vietnam reunification, on April 30, 1975 and the victory in the battle of Dien Bien Phu, on May 7, 1954, the reporter recalled her experience as the first Cuban and Latin American war correspondent, in an interview with Prensa Latina.
 

Cuba, Spain Normalize Economic and Financial Relations

Cuba and Spain today took a step more in the normalization of their bilateral relations with the signing of agreements that restructure the island''s debt with this European country at mid and long term.
 
Cuba's Council of Ministers vice president, Ricardo Cabrisas, and Spain's Economy Minister, Luis de Guindos, presided over in Madrid the signing of those agreements to regularize the commitments made by the Caribbean nation with Spain.

Cuban President Heads Ceremony for Workers

President of Cuba, Raul Castro, headed the ceremony in which 67 workers and five working groups were awarded for their contribution to the national socio-economic development as part of the celebrations for May 1st.
 
At the presidents proposal, last night, the first Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Lazaro Exposito Canto was given the honorary title of Hero of Labor of the Republic of Cuba, was officially informed here today.

On the morning of April 30, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, president of the Councils of State and Ministers, received His Excellency Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Philip Anthony Hammond, on an official visit to the country.
