Cuba appreciates U.S. contribution to Hurricane Ian victims

The Cuban Foreign Ministry is grateful for the U.S. State Department's offer of two million dollars in aid for Cubans affected by Hurricane Ian on Sept. 27.

According to a press release published on the Foreign Ministry's website (Cubaminrex), the assistance will be channeled by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, an organization to which Cuba belongs and with which it has a long and fluid relationship.

"This contribution will help to the enormous recovery and reconstruction efforts carried out by national authorities together with the people," the text adds.

Cuba has received and is grateful for the material support and solidarity of various governments and international organizations and other countries in the face of the immense material damage caused by Hurricane Ian and the hard task of recovery.
