- Arrival in the city of Houston, Texas, from Canada. He was welcomed by Mayor Lewis Cutrer.
- Meeting with Commander Raúl Castro in Shamrock Hotel, in Houston. Raúl had travelled to the US to brief the leader of the Revolution about the situation in Cuba.
- Meeting with Paulina del Conde, wife of Antonio del Conde “El Cuate”, from Mexico, who was involved in the purchase of “Granma” yatch and was imprisoned in the United States at that time on charges of sending weapons to the Cuban government.
